Training Teachers in Thailand

For the last year the NSO has been working with the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) to translate and develop a Thai version of the NSO for use in schools across Thailand. This has been possible thanks to a UK Newton Fund grant. In January 2018, Prof Andy Newsam and Dr Stacey Habergham-Mawson went over to Chiang Rai in the north of Thailand to launch the site at a teacher training event attracting around 70 teachers from across the country.

The Thai website provides users with access to information from our 'Learn' section, along with a selection of activities from the 'Discover' section of our website, and limited access to the Liverpool Telescope, equivalent to our new NSO User account.

This is the first tentative step for the NSO expanding globally and it has been a real delight to work with NARIT over the last year, and now to see the team spreading the news across the country.
