Our theme this month: Space Exploration

This month, our theme is Space Exploration!

Use our Learn area to research human space flight, robots, space probes, and much more! Then test your knowledge by having a go at our Rockets quiz.

Want to know when the next space launch is? We've found this great online resource!

Challenge yourself by imaging all the Apollo landing sites with the Liverpool Telescope!

Or write a biography of the UK's first astronaut, Dr. Helen Sharman.

We will be highlighting some of Career Heroes who explored space on our social media. You can find them and many more in our Careers area.

Summer solstice - help us measure the Earth!

June 21st is the Summer Solstice in the northern hemisphere. Did you know that it is possible to estimate the circumference of the Earth using a stick? You can join our Solstick experiment in collaboration with the Royal Astronomical Society to follow in the footsteps of ancient astronomers and recreate the methods they used to measure the size of the Earth. The more people who take part, the more accurate our answer will be!

Women in Engineering Day

June 23rd is International Women in Engineering Day! The theme this year is engineering heroes. Our Careers area highlights some of the heroes whose engineering skills have been vital for advances in astrophysics and space exploration.
